Firm a Trip

Transaction: Firm a Trip

Description:
A trip can be firmed to prevent further changes. You can firm a trip in two ways

  • Firm routing: Once you do this you can’t make any add/remove trip stops.
  • Firm routing and contents: Once this action is performed you can’t add/remove trip stops and can’t make any changes to the associated sales order lines.

To reverse the firm status you need to perform ‘UNFIRM’ action.

Navigation:
Shipping super user responsibility -> Shipping -> Shipping -> Transactions

  • Query a trip that is in ‘OPEN’ status and status is not firmed.
  • Select one or more trips. To select multiple trips press ‘Ctrl’ button on keyboard and ‘Enter’ on each line.
  • Select ‘Firm Routing’ under actions drop down
  • Click ‘Go’
  • Save the transaction.
  • Re-query the trip to see the updated status as ‘Firmed’.

To firm the contents of delivery:

  • Click on ‘Contents by Delivery’ tab
  • Select the lines
  • Select ‘Firm Contents’ from Actions dropdown
  • Click on ‘Go’
  • Save the transaction.
  • Re-query the delivery contents to see the firm status updated.

Create Trip

Transaction: Create a Trip

Description:
A trip is a route followed by a freight carrier. Usually a trip can have multiple deliveries departing from shipping warehouse then delivering at a customer location, then to next customer location and so on. Trips can be automatically created or manually. Trips are made up of deliveries.

Navigation:
Shipping super user responsibility -> Shipping -> Shipping -> Transactions

  • Query the open deliveries
  • From the output results screen select one or more deliveries. To select multiple deliveries press ‘Ctrl’ button on keyboard and ‘Enter’ on each line. In this screen shot you will see two lines are selected.
  • Select ‘Auto-create Trip’ under Actions drop down and click ‘Go’ to create a trip.
  • Save the transaction.
  • Other way to create is ‘right click’ on any line that gives different actions you can perform on the line.
  • Once trip is created you can query the trip to view the trip and trip stop details. By default Trip status will be in ‘Open’ status.

Find Delivery Lines

Description:
Query manager screen can be used to query any shipping related transaction. In this tutorial we will learn how to query Delivery lines using query manager.

Navigation: Shipping super user responsibility -> Shipping -> Shipping -> Transactions.

  • Select ‘Query For’ as ‘Lines’
  • Enter any trip related parameters
  • Click ‘Find’ to view the query results

Output displays all the delivery lines based on the parameters entered.
