2.6 Item Relationships

 

  • Form Application: Inventory
  • Form Name: INVISDRI
  • Form Path: /oracle/apps/r12/visr12/apps/apps_st/appl/inv/12.0.0/forms/US/INVISDRI.fmx

Item Relationships define the relationship of two items. Unlike cross-references where Oracle Item is cross-references with non-oracle item, here Item relationships are defined between 2 oracle items. Item relationships can be one way or bi-directional.

Navigation: Oracle Inventory responsibility -> Items -> Item Relationships

  • Click ‘New’ to setup new relationship
  • Select ‘From Item’
  • Select ‘To Item’
  • Select relationship ‘type’. Some of the item relationships supported by Oracle are
    • Related
    • Substitute
    • Cross-Sell
    • Up-sell
    • Service
    • Pre-requisite
    • Collateral
    • Superseded
    • Complimentary
    • Impact
    • Conflict
    • Mandatory charge
    • Optional charge
    • Promotional Upgrade
    • Split
    • Merge
    • Migration
    • Repair To
    • Regulatory
  • Check the box ‘Reciprocal’ for bi-directional relationship. If you uncheck it it will be uni-directional relationship.
  • Check the box ‘Planning enabled’ for planning (MRP/ASCP) to consider the relationships.
  • Enter the effective Dates.
  • Save the changes.
