2.3 Create Item with a Item Template

Items can be created manually or copied from another item or template. In this tutorial you will learn about how to create items by copying from a template.

Description
Item creation can be tedious, it can be simplified by copying from a Item template. You can maintain a template for buy item, make item, outside processing item etc, when you create item just enter item number and description and select the template to copy from. That's all all item attributes will get copied.

Navigation: Inventory responsibility -> Items -> Master Items

  • Enter Item Number/name. This must be unique number/name.
  • Enter Item description.
  • Navigate to Tools -> Copy From
  • Enter existing template name from which information should be copied. Templates must be setup first before they can be used.
  • Click ‘APPLY’ then ‘click ‘DONE’
  • Save the changes made.

Now a new item is created by copying all attribute information from an existing template. Attributes can be changed after copying and saving the changes.
