2.6 Item Relationships

Item Relationships define the relationship of two items. Unlike cross-references where Oracle Item is cross-references with non-oracle item, here Item relationships are defined between 2 oracle items. Item relationships can be one way or bi-directional.
Navigation: Oracle Inventory responsibility -> Items -> Item Relationships
- Click ‘New’ to setup new relationship
- Select ‘From Item’
- Select ‘To Item’
- Select relationship ‘type’. Some of the item relationships supported by Oracle are
- Related
- Substitute
- Cross-Sell
- Up-sell
- Service
- Pre-requisite
- Collateral
- Superseded
- Complimentary
- Impact
- Conflict
- Mandatory charge
- Optional charge
- Promotional Upgrade
- Split
- Merge
- Migration
- Repair To
- Regulatory
- Check the box ‘Reciprocal’ for bi-directional relationship. If you uncheck it it will be uni-directional relationship.
- Check the box ‘Planning enabled’ for planning (MRP/ASCP) to consider the relationships.
- Enter the effective Dates.
- Save the changes.
