7.0 Enter Safety Stock Manually

Safety Stocks are buffer inventory that is kept for any fluctuation in demand/supply. Safety Stocks also include the demand during lead-time to make/buy an item. Safety stocks can be system generated or manually entered. In this tutorial you will see how to enter ‘Safety Stock’ manually in Oracle Inventory module.
Navigation: Inventory responsibility -> Planning -> Safety Stocks
- Enter the search criteria to search existing safety stocks and click ‘FIND’ or
- Click ‘NEW’ to add safety stock to an item
- Enter ‘Item Number’ to which safety stock should be added
- Enter ‘Effective Date’ from which it is active
- Enter the safety stock ‘quantity’
- Click ‘Save’ to save the safety stock details entered
MRP / Supply Chain Planning can consider safety stock quantity in addition to demand quantity while suggesting planned order quantity.
