there is no standard oracle process. at one of my client they have a process called ‘Obsolescence’, where on hand items and their age is consider how much percentage of inventory value to be obsoleted, manual journal entries are passed to do adjust inventory valuation.

Once Inventory organization is setup with a cost method, it can’t be changed.
Best way to approach is create a new inventory org and disable the old one. -
