Lot Action Codes

Lot Action Codes are actions you perform on a lot when it expires. Once a lot action code is defined with a name, description and status (enabled/disabled), it can used as default in item master. When a lot is about to expire you will get notification with a default action codes you can perform on it.

Grade Control Setup

Grade control feature is part of ‘Oracle Process Manufacturing’. In R12 the process inventory module and discrete inventory module were merged, hence these features were ported to discrete manufacturing customers as well.

Grade is a rating of an item lot usually based on quality inspection. Grade is a characteristoc of item lot.

Lot Control Setup

Lot control setp is done at item master organization level or item organization level. Navigate to item and inventory attributes tab. First you can check/uncheck to turn-on/off the lot control for each item. You can choose either Full control or no control. Once enabled you are expected to enter lot numbers in every transaction you do.

Setup Lot expiry date, this controls when the lot becomes expired and systematically it prevents lot being used in manufacturing/assembly/shipping. Shelf life control can be defined in number of days.

Enter lot number uniqueness. Lot uniqueness can be within and Item or across an item or within an inventory organization.
