Manufacturing Execution Systems Module Overview

Manufacturing Execution Systems or MES is a new addition to oracle discrete manufacturing family in R12. MES enhances the basic WIP functionality with additional MES supervisor workbench and MES workstation feature.

MES Workstation:

• Single interface for multiple job operations
• Clock in and Clock out feature to capture time spent on work order
• View the dispatch list
• Report exceptions
• Move and return of assemblies

MES Supervisor Workbench:

• Department supervisor can get dashboard with current operations status
• Monitor the operations progress
• Identify bottleneck operations and assign alternate resources
• Reschedule operations based on resource availability and criticality
• Change the shop floor status
• Allocate jobs to resources and expedite
